Mary E. Woods, a native of Calhoun Louisiana, has been a Community Service Advocate, coalition builder and a mentor to children and seniors. She has organized workshops to promote the upward mobility of children. She created a study group to understand the Post Traumatic Slavery Syndrome. She is a coach and drum major for children with disabilities. She continuously advocates for increase in access to resources for children.
Mary has an Associate of Business Degree from Robinson Business College, a Bachelor of Arts in Business from Grambling State University and was further educated in Financial Services at the American College of Business.
She has served as Marketing Manager at Michigan Bell and AT&T Communications, Marketing Director at League Shield, and Life and Annuity Specialist at the Auto Club Group.
For the last three years she has served as Director of Personnel at People’s Community Church.
Her community activities and affiliations include the National Association of Negro Business and Professional Women; the Lions Club International; Tau Gamma Delta Sorority, Inc; The League of Women Voters, the NAACP, and the Women’s Life Insurance Society.
